Scholarships offer hope to youth who face financial barriers,
turning the seemingly impossible dream of attending college
or vocational training school into a reality and setting the
stage for lifelong success. No one knows that better than the
90 recipients who have received scholarships from The Harris
Family Foundation since 2005. Named in memory of the late
Benjamin and Suzanne Harris, the scholarship fund has
awarded more than $100,000 to students of all ages who have
decided to pursue a higher education or skill to better their
lives. The Foundation also presents monetary gifts to students
who are eligible for the scholarship but did not receive the
larger scholarship award.
Michele Reese knows firsthand that the support of The Harris
Family Foundation helps young people bring their dreams to
life. Her daughter and son both received a scholarship through
the Foundation.
“We are forever grateful knowing that there are still people in
this world that genuinely want to see the youth of this world
succeed and are actively doing their part to help; it really means
a lot,” said Michele. “With the increasing fees that come with
pursuing a higher education, this scholarship helps with the
financial responsibility placed on families as students try to better
themselves and contribute to our world community as a whole.”
