FUND FOR ANNE ARUNDEL GRANTS EXPAND
REACH IN THE COUNTY
In 2025, the Fund for Anne Arundel (FFAA) awarded
$510,000 to 13 local nonprofits — the largest
grantmaking total in the fund’s history. This milestone
reflects not only record-breaking generosity but
also a deepened commitment to addressing the
evolving needs of our community. Both have allowed
CFAAC to expand the fund’s focus to nonprofits that
prioritize the physical, mental, and behavioral health
of children; homeless prevention programs; mental
wellness programs and initiatives; and school and
after-school programs.

FFAA grantees have already done remarkable things
with the funds. At the Light House Homeless
Prevention Center, grant funding is expanding
prevention and stabilization efforts for families facing
homelessness. Specifically, the funds are supporting
the Safe Harbour Resource Center, a welcoming space
where individuals facing homelessness can access
simple dignities such as a cup of coffee, a place to rest
or check email, showers, laundry services, overnight
beds, and compassionate case management.

Mental health services for local families will also
expand. Arundel Lodge, Inc. is using the grant to
support clinic-and community-based mental health
services for AAC children and families, including
unreimbursed outreach provided by school and
agency partnerships. Several grant recipients are
focused on meeting children’s most basic needs so
they can succeed at home and in school.
HOPE For All is funding its three core programs —
Turning Houses into Homes, Head to Toe, and Next
Step Clothing — providing essential beds, desks,
and clothing to children in need. Seeds 4 Success,
Inc. is expanding its Next Gen Eastport program,
increasing afterschool program days during the
2025-2026 school year and offering more academic
support and enrichment activities.
For children struggling with literacy, Start the
Adventure in Reading (STAIR) – Annapolis,
Inc. is providing targeted literacy intervention
services to at least 150 at-risk children in Anne
Arundel County to help them succeed in their
educational journey.
Other local programs are creating more opportunities
for children beyond the classroom. The Complete
Player Charity is expanding its Sports & STEAM
camp from two one-week sessions to a four-week
experience, giving campers more time for math
and reading enrichment. Chase Your Dreams
Initiative Inc. is purchasing two 15-passenger vans
to safely transport youth and equipment to afterschool and weekend enrichment programs serving
underserved communities.

Support for families navigating difficult circumstances
is also a priority. Through its Journey to Joy program,
Joy Reigns Lutheran Church is providing 10–12
months of recovery rental assistance for mothers and
children living in its sober living home, allowing mothers
to focus on sobriety and rebuilding family stability.
