COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP FUND
Because of you, the work goes on.
The Community Leadership Fund supports the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel
County’s annual operations. In 2025, because our donors went above and beyond, their
generosity created a budget surplus that empowered CFAAC to invest back into the
community in the most lasting and strategic way possible. Our leadership chose to utilize
these funds by endowing four of our Field of Interest Funds, ensuring that the nonprofits
serving Anne Arundel County will receive grants for generations to come.

What this means is simple yet powerful: the Food Insecurity Fund, Grants 4 Teachers
Fund, Help Our Neighbors Fund, and the Women and Girls Fund will join other
endowed Field of Interest Funds at CFAAC. They will continue to grow and provide
grants forever, helping to sustain the organizations that our community relies on.
“It was important to the Community Foundation board and staff to give back to the
community in the most transformative way possible,” said CFAAC President and
CEO John Rodenhausen. ”By endowing these Field of Interest Funds, we’re ensuring
that grants will continue strengthening nonprofits and supporting those they serve
in perpetuity.

“Donors who support endowments are thinking beyond the moment,” John added.
“They know that sustaining a nonprofit means more than covering today’s costs, it
means giving organizations the stability to absorb rising operating costs and unexpected
challenges. When gas prices climb, the vans keep running. When utility bills spike, the
lights stay on. The work doesn’t stop because the funding doesn’t run out.”
By turning surplus support into permanent funding, donors have helped to create
something enduring — a gift that keeps giving, year after year.
