GIVING CIRCLES AT CFAAC

Giving circles established through CFAAC exemplify the power in pooled giving, which takes the individual act of giving and amplifies it to
make a bigger impact in a community. Individuals combine their resources and collectively decide where those funds should be distributed.
Today, CFAAC is proud to support two giving circles: Anne Arundel Women Giving Together and Collective Giving of Anne Arundel County.

Celebrating 20 Years in 2026
A new circle, a shared purpose
Since its founding in 2006, Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT)
has awarded more than $2.1 million to nonprofits working to improve the lives
of underserved women and families across Anne Arundel County. Today, the
giving circle includes more than 400 members.
In 2025, Collective Giving of Anne Arundel County (CGAACo) began as a
simple idea. This new giving circle was created to bring neighbors together
to pool charitable contributions and make collective decisions about where
grants can have the greatest impact. CGAACo empowers residents to respond
quickly and compassionately to urgent needs across our county.
In 2025, AAWGT awarded a record $226,316 to 11 local nonprofits — the
largest annual grantmaking total in its history. This volunteer-led organization is
guided by a dedicated Steering Committee and supported by members who are
deeply engaged in every aspect of the work.
Throughout the year, AAWGT offers educational programs, hosts
membership outreach events, presents a Grants Showcase, conducts site
visits, and leads a thoughtful and rigorous grant review process, followed
by ongoing evaluation of grantee outcomes. In its 20th year, the group
continues to stand behind and support women whose lives
are negatively impacted by poverty, lack of opportunity,
violence, and structural and systemic injustice.

This multicultural and multigenerational circle of givers believes generosity can
come from anyone and everyone. By working together, they will support the
essential, everyday needs that help individuals and families move forward with
dignity. CGAACo focuses on supporting people, not just programs.
Many families in Anne Arundel County, particularly ALICE households
(Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), face financial barriers that
traditional funding sources do not cover. A car repair, a utility bill, a childcare
gap, or an unexpected fee can threaten stability. This giving
circle will fill this space by providing grants to support
nonprofits that allow timely, flexible assistance during
moments that matter.
